Why they refuse breakfast

I know you are a grown adult, and you have well-established eating habits that give you a sense of comfort, normalcy, routine, etc. When you have a child with an eating disorder you can’t ask them to change theirs if you are not willing to change you. No excuse you give them for this (e.g “I eat regularly”, “I am at a healthy weight”) will be valid for them!

What is most important at the moment? To stay in your comfort zone or to lead by example even if it is uncomfortable? It’s never too late to start new habits! Start having breakfast every day as a family, or an evening snack before you go to bed, or have dessert after lunch all together!

Food is fuel, walk the walk with them.
